I became annoyed with the accumulation of unused plastic takeout utensils in a kitchen drawer. They were not recyclable, and I didn't want to toss them in the garbage, so I decided to make them into an artwork. I mounted them on leftover canvas strips and reclaimed stretcher bars.

I wonder how many millions of drawers in the world are accumulating plastic takeout utensils that will not be made into art, but tossed in the garbage to accumulate in landfills. I do my best to remember to say "no plastic utensils" when I order takeout food, but despite my best intentions, more plastic is accumulating in my kitchen drawer.
