Inspired by the tragedy of September 11, this work reads like a mantra, starting in the center with letters outlined in stark black
and white, reflecting the certitude of right, wrong, good and bad…the color is green. By the end of the spiral, the letters are harder
to discern, statements have turned to questions, and the green has dissociated into its component colors of blue and yellow…is
the color green? Perhaps if everyone realized the tenuous nature of their beliefs, no one would feel the supreme arrogance necessary
to kill, terrorize, oppress or subjugate others for the sake of their beliefs.
What follows is the poem that spirals out from the center of the artwork.
I am right
you are wrong
the color is green
I am good
you are bad
the color is green
am I right
you are wrong
the color is green
I am good
you are bad
the color is green
am I right

the color is green
